In light of the demand for more reputable and reliable printing press companies that can alternatively assist our Printing Press (Baptist Production) in achieving improved and expedited delivery of our Annual and Non-Annual Literature titles designated for printing, as well as fulfilling our seasonal objectives, the Publications Department, represented by the Director of Publications, Rev. Dr Busoye Adigun.

Dn Adeola Adelakun conducted visits to several esteemed and high-quality Printing Presses in Ibadan. Among the Printing Press companies visited were Freedom Press, Mokola, His Praise Printing Limited, Mokola, Fakande Printing Enterprises, Mokola, Oye Lithographic Printers, Mokola, University Press PLC, Jericho, Ibadan, and the University of Ibadan Press, UI.

We engaged in business negotiations with each of the aforementioned Printing Press companies to establish a mutually beneficial partnership.

1. Freedom Press, Mokola

Our visit to Freedom Press took place on June 9, 2025. This Press was recommended by the Director of Publications. Established approximately 20 years ago, the Founder of the Press is Dr C. Oyors. The Press is situated adjacent to the Veterinary Hospital in Mokola, Ibadan. The company possesses adequate space to accommodate our book projects.

1.1. Operational Analysis During discussions with Pastor John Bello, the current Press Manager, the Director of Publications revealed the necessity for an alternative Press to support our operations.

Pastor Bello indicated that the Press has been managed by various administrative heads over the years and has established itself as one of the leading companies in producing high-quality Christian books and other Christian literature materials.

1.1.0. Strengths: Historically, the company has possessed a variety of machines and a substantial workforce. Additionally, the Press offers spacious and aesthetically pleasing areas to secure book projects.

1.1.1. Weaknesses: The efficiency of the machines requires repairs, which hinders the ability to print in large quantities successfully.

1.2. Conclusion: Pastor Bello concluded that the company has experienced a downturn in business due to the economic climate and financial limitations, leading to a decrease in active customers.

He expressed regret that the company is unable to manage our project at this time. He highlighted that some of their works are currently being printed at the Chemistry Department, Futa, Akure, as well as at other printing companies.

1.3. Recommendation In our conversation, Pastor Bello suggested approximately four additional printing companies situated in Mokola, which utilise MO and KORD printing machines capable of efficiently executing both four-colour and one-colour printing projects.

During our in-depth discussions regarding the functionalities of the two machines, he informed us that the Comory Machine surpasses the MO Printing Machine in terms of speed, quality, and maintenance.

He also indicated that only Baptist Press (BP) possesses a COMORY machine in Ibadan due to its high cost. The four printing companies recommended by Pastor Bello include His Praise Printing Press Limited, Fakande Nigeria Printing Enterprises, Oye Litherographic Printers, and Afso Printing Press, all located in Mokola, Ibadan.

2. His Praise Printing Limited, Mokola

1.0. Background On June 9, 2025, the Director of Publications and Dr Adeola Adelakun visited His Praise Printing Press Limited. This press has been operational for many years and is situated at 6, Bolarinwa Street, Mokola, Ibadan.

The founder of the press is Mr Oluronbi Olurotimi. The company boasts an attractive building structure and ample space. It is believed to be a place where the safety of our book project can be assured.

1.1. Operational Analysis The Director of Publications initiated a discussion regarding the necessity for an alternative press to support our current press and the criteria that must be met by the new press.

During our conversation, Mr Oluronbi Olurotimi assured us that our project would be completely secure with him, emphasising that many of his customers have attested to his prompt operational capabilities.

3. Odunayo Fakande, Nigeria Printing Enterprises, Mokola

1.0. Background: We visited Odunayo Fakande Nig. Printing Enterprises on June 9, 2025. The Press was established in 1986 and is located at 20, Gbadebo Street, Mokola, Ibadan. The Founder of the Press is Mr Odunayo Fakande. The company has secure spaces for the safety of the project.

1.1. Operational Analysis The Director of Publications explained the main reason why we needed a Press we could partner with as an alternative Press and the criteria the Press must meet.

During our discussion, Mr Fakande explained his experience in printing and promised job security and quality service delivery.  The company has a track record in printing for many tertiary institutions, too. The Press CEO mentioned UNAB, SPEB, and so on.

1.1.0. Strengths: The competitive edge of Fakande Printing Press is that the company has a KORD Printing Machine that could print one colour (Black) in large quantities. He promised to deliver on time.

1.1.1. Weaknesses: The Press did not have an MO Printing Machine that could print a full colour project. That is, our titles and other materials in full colour may not be printed there until we contract them out for printing. Delivery time has not been proactive. The payment method was stated during the visit/quotation.

1.2. Conclusion This Press agreed to partner with us based on our requests and criteria. Then, our title specifications were presented to him to work out his quotation for us.

1.3. Recommendation The Publications Department recommends that the Board members visit the Press for approval based on meeting our criteria. The company’s quotation has been attached to this report.

4. Oye Lithergraphic Printers, Mokola

1.0. Background: We visited Oye Lithographic Printers on June 9, 2025. The Press was founded in 1994 and is located at 45 Alafia Street, Mokola, Ibadan. The Founder of the Press is Mr Oyedokun Opeyemi. The company has spaces for the safety of our project.

1.1. Operational Analysis The Director of Publications divulged the main reason we needed a Press that we could partner with as an alternative Press, and the criteria the Press must meet for quality and timely delivery of our project.

During our discussions, Mr Oyedokun promised to deliver a quality job.  The Press prints the popular Deeper Life Magazine: “Christian Women’s Mirror”.

1.1.0. Strengths: The Company has a MO Printing Machine, a Large Format Machine and a KORD Machine for quality and timely printing. 

1.1.1. Weaknesses: Delivery time has not been proactive. Also, the payment method was not stated in the quotation.

1.2. Conclusion This Press agreed to partner with us based on our requests and criteria. Then our title specifications have been presented to him for his quotation.

1.3. Recommendation The Publications Department recommends that the Board members visit the Press for approval based on meeting our criteria. The company’s quotation has been attached to this report. 5. University Press, PLC, Jericho

1.0. Background: We visited University Press, PLC, Jericho, Ibada, on June 10, 2025, as recommended by Dn Adeola Adelakun. The Press was established in 1949 and is located in the Three Crowns Building at Jericho, Ibadan.

The company is one of the best educational publishers in Nigeria. The company is blessed with a serious-minded management team. This publishing house is the foremost Printing Press in Ibadan with a track record in printing book projects. The company has a reputable name for guaranteeing the safety of our projects.

1.1. Operational Analysis We were directed to see Mrs Bose Shaba, who was an Assistant. General Manager (Publishing) of the company. She was in charge of Editorial, Production and Printing.

During our discussion, we explained the main reason why there is a need for an alternative Press to partner with for the timely delivery of our annual literature titles. 

Mrs Shaba said that the company has been offering printing services, not only to people in Nigeria but also to people abroad. She showed the samples of the quality books they had printed, one of which was a devotional entitled “The Dawn”.

“The Dawn” is being printed every month for a customer in the United States of America (USA). She said that 75% of the total sum of money would be paid before printing started, and the remaining 25% would be paid at the completion.

1.1.0. Strengths: The Company has the Printing machines and equipment needed to print quality books. The Press prints for the customers in Nigeria and abroad. This publishing house is the foremost Printing Press in Ibadan with a good track record in printing projects. The payment method was stated during the visit/quotation.

1.2. Conclusion: This Press agreed to partner with us based on our requests and criteria. Then our title specifications have been presented to him for his quotation.

1.3. Recommendation The Publications Department recommends that the Board members visit the Press for approval based on meeting our criteria. The company’s quotation has been attached to this report. 6. University of Ibadan Press, UI

1.0. Background We visited the University of Ibadan Press, UI, on June 10, 2,025, as recommended by Dr Adeola Adelakun. The Press was established by the University of Ibadan, Ibadan. The company is blessed with a serious-minded management team. The company has a reputable name for guaranteeing the safety of our project.

1.1. Operational Analysis. I, Mr Tunji Oladejo, am the Publishing Director of their Publishing Company. He told us that due to the volume and overwhelming number of manuscripts they were working on (such as academic books and Inaugural Lectures from the University of Ibadan and other universities), they would not be able to secure our project at this moment. He further said that our partnership may be successful soon.

1.1.0. Strengths: The Press has a well-structured publishing section and Printing Press. They are capable of printing quality books.

1.1.1. Weaknesses: The Press prints more academic and professional papers and research books than any other publisher. They are short of editorial staff at the moment.

1.2. Conclusion: The Press cannot partner with us at this moment because they currently have an overwhelming number of manuscripts. The Director of Publications, Rev. Dr Busoye Adigun and Dn. Adeola Adelakun, who represented the department, left after a long business discussion. 

1.3. Recommendation: The Publications Department can still partner with the Press in the future. We should be hopeful.  Read the similar post on this page.
