Our leaders in the country do encourage bad behaviours. This is a result of different policies introduced into the polity. Most Nigerian leaders in government desire to stay in power for life and for this reason they sponsor and encourage thuggery among the youth let them achieve this by all means.
According to Owoeye (2001) “Frustration as the situation is today, some government’ decrees, laws and circulars sent to schools are not helping the situation at all.
It can be observed that moral decadence among Nigerian youths an increased since the time the government has taken over schools from religious bodies through Decree 28 of 1978.
Lust for Materialism
Lust for materialism is another factor. Recent developments in the country today show that music graduates are not in any way at a disadvantage in getting employment.
Most of them who have skills are easily employed as church organists, performers of artists dancers, at theatre houses and can be popular singers. Some music graduates with bachelor’s degrees go to graduate schools where they prepare for teaching careers.
Apart from earning their living through the art, they also provide employment and empowerment to a lot of others.
